Our clients wanted to make the most of a beautiful apple tree growing in the middle of their quintessential English Country Garden. They adored the idea of having a fairy-tale treehouse for their grandchildren to enjoy, bringing to life every young child’s dream of a special den up in the branches. With a garden filled with flowers and trees, they wanted the treehouse to stand pride of place in the center to create an additional focal point, rather than being tucked away.
As part of the design, we were asked to include a cozy window nook where the children could curl up with their favorite book or look out at the birds and wildlife in the garden below.

Creating a fairy-tale feature within the garden
With Cedar tongue and groove lining and hand-cut Cedar shingles adorning the exterior, the Apple Tree treehouse is finished to an exceptionally high standard. The copper roof and finials peek through the leaves at the top of the apple tree, contrasting with the natural timber and glinting in the sunshine.
As you climb the timber ladder, you can enjoy the view from the rustic timber play deck before opening the door and stepping inside to enjoy the enchanting playroom. A fireman’s pole is on hand for a speedy exit out of the treehouse, and the children can hoist their treats and toys up onto the deck using the fun basket and pulley.
Inside, the treehouse is quaint and quiet – with luxurious oak flooring and oak-framed windows which create an inviting atmosphere. The reading nook is built into the turret, creating the ideal spot for relaxing and spending quiet time with a favourite book or toy.
