Thomas’s Clapham School wanted to transform their playground into a magical space, ensuring children of varied age and physical ability will be enthralled with something special and unique for everyone. Inspiration was drawn from JRR Tolkein’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ for the design. Bespoke, imaginative and predominantly natural structures offer the children a wide range of play experiences.

The Enchanted Treehouse and Hobbiton Hole are both magical timber hideaways that allow children to let their imaginations run wild.
Helm’s Deep Castle is an exciting play structure with draw-bridge entrances and turreted walkways, it brings to life every child’s dream of a castle and fort. Within the castle, the children will encounter rope bridges, winding log walks, monkey bars, timber boat rockers, clamber nets, sunken tyre stepping stones, and much more! The castle has been intentionally designed to encourage both active and imaginative play as the children embark on great adventures. Shelob’s Webb adds a more relaxed element to Thomas’s Clapham School playground, with an adventure play net reached via giant book steps and suspended under a timber roof providing a sheltered area where children can gather together.
Finally, the Middle Earth Dragon is a magnificent timber carved dragon head that playfully links the Enchanted Treehouse with the rest of the Lord of the Rings themed playground via the curvy bench that was a feature part of the playground site.
